Chasing 284 for victory in the final, India C were restricted to 232 for 9 in 50 overs by India B.The Parthiv Patel-led side rode on Shahbaz Nadeem’s four-wicket haul to defend a challenging total against Shubman Gill’s India C at the JSCA International Stadium Complex.Nadeem and Mohammed Siraj put early pressure on the India C batsmen and reduced them to 64 for 3 in the run chase but Garg’s 74 off 77 balls kept them in the hunt. A couple of run outs and Nadeem’s wily off-spin bowling though, derailed their run chase despite Jalaj Saxena’s unbeaten 37.Nadeem finished with 4 for 32 from 10 overs while Siraj grabbed 2 for 43 and Roosh Kalaria managed a wicket as well.CHAMPIONS #DeodharTrophy pic.twitter.com/m2B074qc5O BCCI Domestic (@BCCIdomestic) November 4, 2019Earlier, India B got off to a poor start when opener Ruturaj Gaikwad got out for a duck in the first over itself. And their start got even worse in the 9th over when captain Parthiv Patel edged a delivery from Ishan Porel, only to see Dinesh Karthik diving full-length behind the stumps to his left to take a stunning one-handed catch. They were reduced to 92 for 4 at the half-way mark but a steady 86 off 94 balls from Kedar Jadhav and a lower-order cameo from Vijay Shankar (45) helped India C reach 283 for 7 in 50 overs, after they elected to bat first.17-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal also contributed with 54 runs while Krishnappa Gowtham smashed 35 not out off 10 balls with the help of three fours and as many sixes to propel the team to a good score.advertisementInnings Break!India B post a total of 283/7 on the board in the final game of Deodhar Trophy. Will India C chase this down? pic.twitter.com/PkIYFRXPOzBCCI Domestic (@BCCIdomestic) November 4, 2019Ishan Porel bagged five wickets for India C while Jalaj Saxena and Axar Patel managed a wicket each but the total was eventually proved to be too big for them to chase down. Also Read | Watch: Dinesh Karthik’s flying one-handed grab to dismiss Parthiv PatelAlso Read | Deodhar Trophy final: Shubman Gill breaks Virat Kohli’s 10-year-old recordAlso Read | 2nd ODI: Raut, spinners star as India women beat West Indies to level serieslast_img read more
