She also insists that the continuing focus of the festival is to keep the tradition of storytelling alive.“This year we have invited the primary schools who have already participated in this event, along with some new schools to join us,” said Betty.“This Primary School Competition showcase evening is a fun performance by all students who were selected to perform at the final on October 25. The emphasis will be on the encouragement individual character and the unique ability of the children taking part, to shine through,” she added.Conor Lambert of the famous Dublin-based theatrical family and his Custard Pie Puppet Show will take to the stage in the Honeyfitz Theatre on Saturday October 25 allowing children to get up close with Punch and Judy during two shows at 1 and 3pm. The Owls from Adare Country Pursuits will present several species of owls, from the largest to the smallest in the world, on October 26 at 1.30pm and 3pm.Children can meet and interact with these fantastic creatures as well as hearing all about the story of owls that are well known to be messengers for witches and wizards as well as close friends of Harry Potter fans.It promises to be a real hoot!
